Milford Track

by Adam & Lara on 01/26/11

It was only a matter of time before Adam and Lara made national news. I mean, come on, we hiked the Milford Track with a professional baseball player. To you Garrett Olson is just a Seattle closer with a promising career ahead of him. But to us he's a hiking buddy, bff, and our ticket to national stardom (read where he talks about people he met along the way).

Anywho, back in November Adam and Lara walked the 4-day 33-mile Milford Track, which according to the consensus of the educated masses is the most famous hike in New Zealand and often called "the finest walk in the world." Most readers would be impressed by this, but since Wikipedia evidently has faulty information about pre-National-League 1870's St. Louis baseball, I know that all you show-me-state Missourians out there are currently raising an eyebrow and saying "the thing is, anybody can go onto Wikipedia and say whatever the hell they want." For that reason we've decided to post pictures of (almost) every mile of the trail to prove the trail's beauty and splendor.

Wasn't that exciting?! As for the sights, it looked like this most of the time:

I guess dat's aight.

The rest of the pics are located here, including pics of the friends we made during the course of the hike, including Garrett, his friend Mike, and some hilarious Canadians that bought us tequila shots when all was said and done.

I always thought the Milford Track was the walking route from Willow St. to Jim's Store. And it's in New Hampshire, not New Zealand. Either way, the references to the National League totally ruined this post.

new zealand's milford track has many similarities to new hampshire's milford track. both involve trekking over land and water through habitats that haven't changed in a hundred years. and for the record i offset that NL reference by talking about an AL baseball thrower. sorry, i almost called him a "baseball player," but since he never swings a baseball bat he's really just a thrower.

Hey! Why you be dissin' the old man? When Wikipedia says the National League St. Louis Browns from the 1800s moved to Baltimore and became the Orioles you gotta speak up! Don't hate the playa, hate the game!

woah there jim, who said i was singling you out? i'm sure there are tons of like-minded playas out there who would agree with you.

Point well taken. My Wikipedia rants are just a spit in the ocean when grouped with other pre-National-League 1870's St. Louis baseball show-me-state Missouri reading guys. What was I thinking?
